Three months ago, we launched DuurzameJobs.nl from a simple conviction: that talent and sustainability must find each other. Today I share what we’ve learned, which stories have touched us, and why we’ve become even more determined to help people do work that matters.
What We Discovered
The biggest myth: That sustainability is only for environmental scientists and biologists. The reality: The energy transition needs every type of expertise – from materials science to project management.
The second discovery: Region makes a difference. The provinces of South Holland and North Brabant prove to be hotspots for sustainable construction. Port cities are transforming their industrial heritage, while Brabant leads in circular construction projects. Local expertise finds its perfect match with sustainable ambitions here.
The Challenges We Encountered
Not everyone immediately believed in the transition to sustainable work. We often heard:

The Growth of Bio-Based Construction
The story of one of the specialists we recently helped make a sustainable career move illustrates an important trend. Bio-based construction is growing explosively, especially in the Netherlands. From small startups to large construction companies – everyone is looking for project managers who can lead this transition.
